Set up PD-Display and view your vehicle data. {% hint style="info" %} This guide follows the PD-Display v1.0 setup flow. Keep your engine running during firmware updates, and have Wi‑Fi or a hotspot ready (downloads usually take 5–10 minutes). {% endhint %} {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Install PD-1 and PD-Display 1. Plug **PD-1** into your vehicle’s OBD‑II port. 2. Wait for the **green flashing light** (Bluetooth ready). 3. Mount **PD-Display** on the windshield or dashboard. 4. Connect the Type‑C cable from PD-1 to PD-Display. 5. Start the engine to power both devices. {% hint style="info" %} PD-Display is powered from the OBD port through PD-1. You do not need a cigarette-lighter adapter. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Update PD-Display On the display: **Settings → About → Version number** → connect to Wi‑Fi → tap **Update**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Set up the Proteus Diagnostics app 1. Install and open **Proteus Diagnostics** (App Store / Google Play). 2. Log in or register. 3. Tap **Connect PD-1** and allow Bluetooth and Location. 4. Add your vehicle (plate, brand, model, energy type, year). VIN can be auto-detected or entered manually. 5. If you see **Hardware Upgrade Detected**, tap **Upgrade Now** and wait until 100%. Keep the engine running and the app open. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Connect PD-Display 1. In the app, open the **PD-Display** tab → **Connect Display**. 2. Tap **Scan Basic Live Data** → **Start**. 3. On the display, confirm binding your vehicle. 4. Keep **Initialize basic live data** checked and **untick Initialize OEM live data**. 5. Connect the display to Wi‑Fi / hotspot, verify the VIN, and download the data package. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Customise your dashboard 1. In the app under **PD-Display**, open **Dashboard** and choose a template. 2. Long-press and drag widgets to rearrange them (the display updates live). 3. Edit a widget to change its sensor, then tap **Save**. Set up PD-Tyre and start monitoring tyre data. # Getting Started with PD-1 Set up and connect your PD-1 device. Set up your PD-1 device and connect the app. ## What you need * **PD-1** OBD‑II dongle * Compatible vehicle with an accessible OBD‑II port * Smartphone with Bluetooth and Location Services * **PD-1** app (App Store / Google Play, or [pd1.sg/download](https://www.pd1.sg/download)) * Internet connection (for account login, firmware, and vehicle data packages) {% hint style="info" %} PD-1 plugs into the vehicle’s OBD‑II port and connects to the PD-1 app over Bluetooth. When searching, the indicator light should **blink green**. {% endhint %} ## Install PD-1 in the vehicle Follow the in-app **Plug Guide**, or these steps: {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Turn off the ignition Do not insert or remove PD-1 while the ignition is on or the engine is running. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Locate the OBD‑II port Open the driver’s side area and find the OBD port. It is usually below the steering wheel, near the driver’s seat. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Insert PD-1 The OBD port is trapezoid-shaped — match the plug orientation and push PD-1 in firmly. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Turn the ignition ON Turn the key (or power) to **ON** so PD-1 can talk to the vehicle ECU. Wait for the indicator to **blink green** — Bluetooth is ready. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Set up the app and connect {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Install and open the PD-1 app Install the PD-1 app, then **Sign Up** or **Log In**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Enable Bluetooth and Location Turn on Bluetooth and Location Services. The app needs Location to scan for Bluetooth devices. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Connect PD-1 On Home (or **Profile** → **My OBD**), tap **Connect PD-1**. On **Waiting to connect with PD-1**, search starts automatically — or tap **Search Device**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Select your device and connect When your PD-1 appears, check the serial number (SN), then tap **Connect**. Wait for **Connected Success!** / **PD-1 connected successfully!** {% hint style="info" %} Keep the phone close to the device. If nothing appears, confirm the green blinking light and tap **Scan** again. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Upgrade if prompted If you see **Hardware Upgrade Detected**, tap **Upgrade Now** / **Start Upgrade**. {% hint style="warning" %} Keep the app open, keep the engine running, and do not unplug PD-1 until the upgrade finishes (about 3–5 minutes). {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Add your vehicle If you do not have a vehicle yet, create one after connect: 1. Enter **VIN / Chassis No.** (PD-1 may auto-read the VIN), or fill brand, model, and other details manually. 2. For a standard VIN, use 17 characters. Some Japanese domestic cars use a chassis number (for example `XXX-XXXXXX`). 3. If you are unsure, you can enter seventeen `0`s and select the model manually later. {% hint style="info" %} If VIN is not detected, choose the vehicle model manually when prompted. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Download data and run your first scan {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open Diagnostics Go to the **Diagnostics** page. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Download the vehicle data package (first time) On the first scan, the app may ask you to **Download Data Package** (about 2–3 minutes). Tap **Download Now** and keep the app open. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Start Scan Tap **Start Scan** and wait for the scan to finish. When it completes, you can review fault codes, vehicle health, and other insights. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Optional: full Getting Started checklist in the app For a guided end-to-end setup (connect → update → vehicle database → live data → optional PD-Display): 1. Open **Settings** → **Getting Started**, or 2. Log in with your PD-1 **Serial Number** to open Getting Started automatically. Learn how to scan your vehicle and review fault codes. ## Before you start * PD-1 is plugged into the OBD‑II port * Ignition is **ON** (engine may be running) * PD-1 is connected in the PD-1 app * A vehicle profile is selected * Bluetooth and Location are enabled on your phone * Internet is available for the first data package download {% hint style="info" %} If you see **No PD-1 connected!**, tap **Connect PD-1** first. If PD-1 is currently on PD-Display, switch it to the phone when prompted. {% endhint %} ## Run a scan {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open Diagnostic In the PD-1 app, open the **Diagnostic** tab. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Start a scan Under **Check Car for Fault Codes**, tap **Start** for a **Quick Scan** (about 1 minute). For more control, open the Scan hub and choose: * **Quick Scan** — faster check * **Full Scan** — all available control units * **Custom Scan** — pick units, then tap **Scan** {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Verify the vehicle (if asked) When **Verify Vehicle Match** appears, confirm **Brand**, **Model**, and **Year**, then tap **Yes**. If the VIN does not match your current vehicle, you can switch, edit, or add a vehicle. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Download the data package (first time) On the first scan, tap **Download Now** on **Download Data Package** (about 2–3 minutes). Keep the app open until you see **Download Complete**, then tap **Start Scan**. {% hint style="info" %} Later scans may ask you to **Upgrade Data Package** if a newer vehicle database is available. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Wait for the scan to finish Stay in the app until scanning completes. You can **Pause**, **Resume**, or **Stop** if needed. When it finishes, you will see **Fault Codes Detected** or **No Fault Codes Detected**. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Read the results Scanned items are grouped by system (for example Engine, Transmission, Brakes). Each unit shows **Normal**, a DTC count, or **Not Detected**. {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open a control unit Tap a unit that has codes to open the ECU detail list. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Open Fault Details Tap a code to see: * Fault name and **Code** * **Description** * **Possible Symptoms** * **Repair Importance Level** — Low / Medium / High * **Estimated Cost** (Part, Labour, Total), when available {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Use extra tools (optional) On Fault Details you can: * **Ask AI** — explain possible causes and next steps * **Freeze Frame** — snapshot of vehicle data when the code was stored (only if the vehicle has freeze frame data) * **Post to Forum** — share the code with the community {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Save a report Tap **View Report** (or open the **Report** tab) to keep a record of this scan. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} {% hint style="info" %} Past scans are under the **History** tab in the Scan hub — that is scan session history, not a Current / Pending code filter. {% endhint %} ## Clear fault codes If the scan found codes, tap **Clear DTC**, then **Confirm**. On success you will see **Clear DTC successful** and how many codes were cleared. {% hint style="warning" %} Clearing codes does not fix the underlying issue. If the fault is still present, the code (and warning light) can return. On some BMW vehicles, restart the car after clearing. {% endhint %} Then tap **Rescan** to confirm whether codes come back. ## If something blocks the scan | Message / situation | What to try | | -------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Add a New Vehicle** | Add a vehicle, then connect PD-1 | | **No PD-1 connected!** | Tap **Connect PD-1**; check the green blinking light | | **Download Failed!** | Check internet, then **Retry Download** | | **Vehicle Mismatch** | Switch, edit, or add the vehicle that matches the scanned VIN | | Scan stuck / cancelled | Stay in the app; restart with ignition ON and PD-1 connected | | **Not Detected** on a unit | That module may not be available on this vehicle or this scan | ## Next steps 1. Understand the health insights for your vehicle. ## What Vehicle Health is Vehicle Health turns real driving samples from **PD-Display** into an overall **Health Index** and theme-by-theme status (electrical, thermal, and more). It is different from a one-off Diagnostic scan: | | Diagnostic scan | Vehicle Health | | ----------- | ------------------------------ | ----------------------------------- | | Main goal | Find and clear fault codes now | Track condition over several drives | | Data source | PD-1 ↔ phone (live OBD scan) | PD-Display samples → app sync | | Typical use | Check engine light / codes | Ongoing health after normal driving | {% hint style="info" %} Vehicle Health needs a **PD-Display** linked to the same vehicle. Driving with the display connected builds the samples; the PD-1 app syncs and analyses them. {% endhint %} ## Before you start * A vehicle profile is selected in the PD-1 app * PD-1 and PD-Display are set up for that vehicle * PD-Display stays powered and connected while you drive * Internet is available when you sync in the app {% hint style="info" %} Some accounts see **Vehicle Health early access** first. Tap **Apply for access** and wait until access is approved before the full dashboard unlocks. {% endhint %} ## Open Vehicle Health and sync {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open Health In the PD-1 app, open the **Health** tab. The screen title is **Vehicle Health**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Connect PD-Display (if needed) If you see **Connect PD-Display**, complete display setup and bind the same vehicle used in the app. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Drive with PD-Display connected Use the car normally. PD-Display collects samples in the background. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Sync with PD-Display Tap **Sync** or **Sync with PD-Display**. The app shows **AI Health Analysis** while it uploads samples and updates your assessment. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} {% hint style="warning" %} The vehicle on PD-Display must match the vehicle selected in the app. If they differ, switch or rebind before syncing. {% endhint %} ## Vehicle Health Journey Until enough driving samples are collected, you will see **Vehicle Health Journey**. Progress is based on **effective collection days** (useful drives that produce samples), not only calendar days. Typical unlock path (petrol / hybrid): 1. Current operating readings 2. 12V battery & charging check 3. Cooling & warm-up assessment 4. Fuel mixture & combustion status 5. Core systems cross-check 6. Repeat-condition verification 7. **Vehicle Health Index** EV journeys use EV-focused steps (for example 12V system voltage and thermal-loop checks) instead of combustion. When the journey is complete, the **Health Index** becomes available. Keep PD-Display connected and sync regularly so the index stays fresh. ## Health Index The **Health Index** is a 0–100 score from recent analysis (about a **7-day window**). | Pill | Meaning | | --------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- | | **Not Enough Data** | Journey not complete, or samples are still building | | **In good condition** | Latest analysis looks healthy overall | | **Needs Attention** | At least one theme needs a closer look | | **Elevated Risk** | One or more themes show elevated risk | You may also see: * **Primary constraint: {theme}** — the theme most limiting the index * **Index +N / −N since last sync** — how the score moved after a sync * **Looking good overall** — no active concerns from the latest analysis * **Worth a look** + **Review {theme}** — open the theme that needs attention If analysis is stale, the app may show **Sync to refresh analysis**, **Analysis is N days old**, or **Needs PD-Display sync**. ## Themes Tap a theme card for charts, verdict, and next steps. ### Petrol / hybrid | Theme | What it reflects | | ------------------- | --------------------------------------- | | **Electrical** | Charging / 12V behaviour while driving | | **Thermal** | Coolant temperature after warm-up | | **Combustion** | Fuel trim / mixture stability | | **Fault Status** | Fault signals that may need a code scan | | **Usage Intensity** | How hard the vehicle is being driven | | **Trip** | Mileage and runtime context | ### EV | Theme | What it reflects | | --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Electrical** | 12V system / pack health signals (as available) | | **Thermal** | Thermal-loop temperature | | **Electrical Alerts** | DC-DC / 12V-style alerts (instead of classic MIL fault status) | | **Driving Intensity** | High-demand driving share | | **Trip** | Mileage and runtime context | Combustion is usually not shown for pure EV. ## Status colours | Status | Meaning | | ------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- | | **Normal** | Within a healthy band for that theme | | **Needs attention** | Outside the normal band — review and follow next steps | | **Risk** | Higher concern — act sooner; consider a shop if it persists | | **Calibrating** | Not enough valid samples yet for a firm verdict | {% hint style="info" %} Short spikes alone usually do not set status. The analysis looks for sustained patterns across valid PD-Display samples. {% endhint %} ## What to do next On a theme in **Needs attention** or **Risk**, open **What to do next**. Common in-app checklists: * **Check charging while driving** * **Check coolant on a warm drive** * **Check 12V while driving** (EV) * **Check thermal loop on a drive** (EV) * **Follow the quick check** Typical pattern: 1. Drive normally for about 15–20 minutes 2. Keep PD-Display connected 3. Sync after the drive 4. Recheck the theme You may also see **Find a nearby shop** or a **Related service** reminder. Theme detail also includes **How we measure** for how that check works. | Footer | Meaning | | ------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- | | **No action needed.** | Latest verdict looks fine | | **Re-sync to confirm.** | Refresh samples before deciding | | **Looked normal when last analyzed.** | Last result was normal; sync again for a current view | ## Tips 1. Sync after several normal drives — one short trip is often not enough. 2. For thermal checks, judge after the engine (or thermal loop) is fully warm. 3. If **Fault Status** / **Electrical Alerts** points to an active fault, also run a Diagnostic scan (see [Scan & Fault Codes](/pd-1/scan-and-fault-codes)). 4. View and understand your vehicle's live data. ## What Live Data is **Live Data** shows real-time values from your vehicle through PD-1 — for example RPM, temperatures, voltages, and other PIDs. There are two tabs: | Tab | What it is | | --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Live Data** (Basic) | Standardized basic diagnostic data available on most vehicles | | **OEM Live Data** | Manufacturer-specific advanced data — more detailed, model-dependent | {% hint style="info" %} Start with **Basic Live Data**. Use **OEM Live Data** when Basic cannot be read, or when a feature needs OEM parameters. You can initialize OEM later from **Settings → Toolbox**. {% endhint %} ## Before you start * PD-1 is plugged in and the ignition is **ON** * PD-1 is connected to the **phone** (Mobile App), not only to PD-Display * A vehicle profile is selected * Bluetooth and Location are enabled {% hint style="warning" %} PD-1 can only connect to one host at a time. If it is on PD-Display, switch it to the phone before using Live Data Panel. {% endhint %} ## Open Live Data {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Go to Home Open the **Home** tab in the PD-1 app. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Open Live Data Panel Tap **Live Data Panel** (shown when PD-1 is connected or vehicle data is available). {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Choose a tab Use **Live Data** for Basic parameters, or **OEM Live Data** for OEM parameters. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} Optional: from the ⋮ menu open **PD-Display Dashboard** to view skins/widgets (when you have access). ## Initialize and scan ### Basic Live Data {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Initialize If you see **Initialize Basic Data to start monitoring**, tap **Start**. Wait for **LiveData initialized successfully.** {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Scan (optional but useful) Run **Scan Basic Live Data** from **Settings → Toolbox**, or during Getting Started. Scanning discovers available parameters and supports features that need a Basic data source (for example some display templates). {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ### OEM Live Data {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Download the vehicle data package OEM needs a vehicle database. Use **Download Vehicle Data Package** in **Settings → Toolbox** if you have not already. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Read the Important Notice The first OEM init shows **Important Notice**: reading OEM data may temporarily light dashboard warnings. Tap **Continue** only if you accept that risk. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Initialize OEM On the OEM tab, tap **Start** if you see **Initialize OEM Data to start monitoring**. Wait for **OEMLiveData initialized successfully.** {% endstep %} {% step %} ### First OEM scan The first OEM scan may show **First OEM Scan Required** — downloading and processing a large package (can take much longer than Basic; later scans are faster). Learn how PD-1 checks vehicle mileage. ## What Mileage Check does Mileage Check compares the **current mileage you enter** with mileage stored in vehicle modules (and optionally OEM live data). It is a **cross-module comparison**, not a full Diagnostic scan of every system. {% hint style="info" %} The estimate uses the **highest** mileage found in available Engine / Transmission freeze-frame data (and OEM, if you continue). Footer tip: **Based on cross-module mileage comparison.** {% endhint %} ## Before you start * A vehicle profile is selected in the PD-1 app * PD-1 is plugged in and the ignition is **ON** * PD-1 is connected to the **phone** (not only PD-Display) * Internet is available for vehicle match and the first data package {% hint style="warning" %} If PD-1 is on PD-Display, switch it to the phone when prompted. Mileage Check reads modules through the app connection. {% endhint %} ## Run a Mileage Check {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open Mileage Check Go to the **Diagnostic** tab → **Vehicle Insights** → **Mileage Check**. Type the reading from the dashboard (in **km**), then **Confirm**. {% hint style="info" %} This value is used for this check only. Confirm **Verify Vehicle Match** if asked. The app scans Engine and Transmission, then may read freeze-frame mileage from stored fault data. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Choose OEM (optional) When you see **Continue with OEM Check?**, choose: * **Confirm** — initialize OEM and try to read more mileage (can take longer; dashboard warnings may appear briefly) * **Skip** — go straight to results {% hint style="info" %} OEM is optional. If you skip it, or OEM finds nothing, the check still finishes with module data only. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Understand the result The report always shows: * **Current Mileage** — what you entered * **Real Mileage Estimate** — highest km found in modules / OEM, or **Not Detected** | Result | Meaning | | ---------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Mileage Verified** | Records are consistent across available modules. Your entered mileage is not lower than the highest stored reading. | | **Discrepancy Detected** | Inconsistent mileage across modules. A stored reading is **higher** than what you entered. The **Difference** row shows the gap. | | **Mileage Data Unavailable** | No usable mileage could be read from the vehicle. Ignition is **ON** (or the engine is running, when the app asks for it) 3. The indicator light **blinks green** 4. Phone **Bluetooth** and **Location** are turned on 5. If Location is off, the app shows: *Location is required to connect to Bluetooth. Please wait until it finishes.** ### What to try {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Check power and the indicator Unplug and reinsert PD-1 with ignition off, then turn ignition **ON**. Confirm the light **blinks green**. Use in-app **Plug Guide** if you are unsure about the port or orientation. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Enable Bluetooth and Location Turn both on, then tap **Connect PD-1** → **Search Device**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Stay close and rescan Keep the phone near PD-1 (*Please keep your phone close to the device.*) and tap **Scan** again. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Wait if another connection is busy If you see *Another device is connecting…*, wait until it finishes, then try again. In **Settings → Toolbox**, you can also use **Reset PD-1 Wait State** if the app stays stuck waiting. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Unable to Bind Device ### Symptom Search finds PD-1, but you see **Unable to Bind Device** and *already connected to another user.* ### What to try 1. Log in with the account that already owns this PD-1. 2. On the other account, open **Profile → My OBD** and remove / delete that PD-1 if you intend to move it. 3. Return to your account and tap **Connect PD-1** again. {% hint style="warning" %} A PD-1 device can only be linked to one account at a time. {% endhint %} ## PD-1 is on PD-Display instead of the phone ### Symptoms * *PD-1 is connected to PD-Display. Switch to your phone or search for another device?* * Live Data / scan asks you to switch * *PD-1 can only connect to one device at a time.* ### What to try 1. When prompted, tap **Switch** to move PD-1 to the **Mobile App**, or **Search** for another device. 2. For Live Data Panel, Diagnostic scan, Mileage Check, and Toolbox actions, PD-1 must be on the phone. 3. For on-screen gauges, switch PD-1 back to **PD-Display** when you are done in the app. ## Hardware upgrade problems ### Symptoms * **Hardware Upgrade Detected** * **Upgrade Failed!** * Upgrade stuck below 100% ### What to try {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Start the upgrade correctly Tap **Upgrade Now** / **Start Upgrade**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Keep conditions stable * Keep the app open * Keep the engine running * Do not unplug PD-1 * Stay close over Bluetooth Upgrade usually takes about 3–5 minutes. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Retry if it fails Tap **Retry Upgrade**. If it fails again, reconnect PD-1, confirm the green blinking light, and retry with a stable connection. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} When it succeeds you will see **Upgrade Complete!** ## Vehicle data package will not download ### Symptoms * **Download Data Package** / **Download Failed!** * *Unable to download the data package. Please check your internet connection and try again.* * Scan or Mileage Check stuck on the download placeholder ### What to try 1. Check mobile data / Wi‑Fi. 2. Tap **Retry Download** / **Download Now** and keep the app open (about 2–3 minutes). 3. Confirm **Verify Vehicle Match** (Brand / Model / Year). 4. If VIN does not match, switch, edit, or add the correct vehicle. 5. If auto-connect fails with *VIN mismatch…*, connect PD-1 manually, then continue. ## Scan or Live Data will not start ### Symptoms * Diagnostic shows **No PD-1 connected!** * Live Data shows empty values or will not initialize * Scan stops or never starts * *VIN mismatch. Auto-connect failed. Please connect to PD-1 manually.* ### What to try | Situation | Action | | --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Not connected | Tap **Connect PD-1**; ignition ON | | On PD-Display | **Switch** to Mobile App | | First scan | Complete **Download Data Package** | | Basic Live Data empty | **Settings → Toolbox** → Initialize / Scan Basic Live Data | | OEM needed | Download vehicle package → accept OEM notice → Initialize / Scan OEM | | App stuck waiting | **Toolbox** → **Reset PD-1 Wait State**, then retry | | Left the app mid-scan | Stay in the app until scanning finishes | ## Vehicle mismatch ### Symptoms * **Vehicle Mismatch** * **Verify Vehicle Match** rejected * Scanned VIN differs from the current vehicle ### What to try 1. Read the **Scanned VIN** and **Current VIN** carefully. 2. Tap **Yes** to switch to the existing vehicle, or **Edit Vehicle** / **Add Vehicle** for a new one. 3. Confirm the vehicle selected in the app is the car PD-1 is plugged into. ## Connection drops often ### What to try 1. Keep the phone close to PD-1; avoid covering the device. 2. Turn Bluetooth off/on, then reconnect. 3. Unplug PD-1, wait a few seconds, plug in again, ignition ON. 4. Close other apps that use Bluetooth heavily. 5. Retry **Connect PD-1** from Home or **Profile → My OBD**. ## Still need help? 1. Note the exact on-screen message and your PD-1 serial number (SN). 2. On **Verify Vehicle Match**, confirm the VIN and tap **Yes**. 3. Wait for the download (**about 5–10 minutes**, depending on internet speed). Select a dashboard / add a template (for example, Minimal Style Template 6). ## Arrange widgets * **Long-press and drag** widgets on your phone — the physical PD-Display updates in real time. ## Change a sensor 1. Select a widget. 2. Tap the **edit (pencil)** icon. 3. Choose the data sensor you want (for example, Lambda B1S1). 4. Understand the gauges and vehicle data in PD-Display. # ERP 2.0 Features Set up ERP 2.0 on PD-Display with LTA MAC registration. Use PD-Display with Singapore’s ERP 2.0 system. Complete these steps in order: find your Display MAC address, register it with LTA, wait for activation, then connect from PD-Display. ## Before you start * PD-Display is installed, powered, and set up. * You have a Singpass account to access **OneMotoring Digital Services**. * Your vehicle already has an ERP 2.0 OBU. {% hint style="info" %} ERP 2.0 registration is handled by LTA. Install PD-Tyre sensors on your vehicle. ## What you need * **PD-Tyre** receiver box * One PD-Tyre wheel sensor for each tyre you want to monitor (usually four) * Compatible wheels and valve holes for clamp‑in sensors * **Proteus Diagnostics** app (for pairing after install) * Optional: **PD-Display** on the same vehicle {% hint style="warning" %} PD-Tyre wheel sensors are internal clamp‑in sensors. Fitting them requires demounting the tyre. Have the work done by a qualified tyre workshop unless you are trained to do this safely. {% endhint %} ## Before you install {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Record each sensor ID Every sensor has a **6‑character ID** (hex digits `0–9`, `A–F`) printed on the housing, often with a QR code. Write down each ID and which wheel it will go on (**FL / FR / RL / RR**) before the tyre is mounted. After install, the ID is hidden inside the wheel. {% hint style="info" %} You will use these IDs in the app when pairing sensors to each wheel position. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Check seals and parts Use the gasket, nut, valve core, and cap supplied with the sensor (or a matching service kit). Do not reuse damaged seals or corroded nuts — poor sealing can cause slow leaks. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Plan wheel positions Decide which sensor goes on Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, and Rear Right. Keep the same position map for pairing later. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Install the wheel sensors {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Demount the tyre At a tyre workshop, demount the tyre from the rim using a tyre machine. Protect the sensor body from the bead breaker and mounting head. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Fit the sensor to the rim 1. Clean the valve hole so the seal can sit flat. 2. Insert the sensor valve stem from the **inside** of the rim through the valve hole. 3. Seat the rubber gasket firmly against the rim. 4. Fit and tighten the retaining nut so the sensor body sits against the rim drop centre without twisting the stem. 5. Live tyre data can then come through PD-Display. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Pair with Learn (recommended) Use **Learn** when you want the receiver to detect the sensor on one wheel automatically. {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open Sensor IDs On the PD-Tyre detail page, open **Sensor IDs**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Choose a wheel Tap the wheel you want to pair: **FL**, **FR**, **RL**, or **RR**. The dialog title shows that wheel’s sensor ID (for example **FRONT LEFT**). {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Start Learn Tap **Learn**. The app listens and shows a message such as **Scan FL: trigger that tire sensor (45s)…** or **Listening FL — trigger sensor**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Trigger that wheel’s sensor only While Learn is running, activate **only** the sensor for that wheel (use the activation method supplied with your sensors — for example a short pressure change at that valve). Do not trigger other wheels at the same time. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Confirm the ID When Learn succeeds, the ID field fills in and you see **Learn success**. Tap **Confirm** to write the ID to the PD-Tyre box and save it. {% hint style="warning" %} **Learn** detects the sensor. **Confirm** saves the binding. Use it together with pressure — a hot tyre often reads higher than a cold one. ### Battery Sensor battery level (not a voltage number on the main cards): * **BATTERY HIGH** * **BATTERY MEDIUM** * **BATTERY LOW** (also shown as **LOW** on health cards) {% hint style="warning" %} **LOW** means the wheel sensor battery is weak. Plan a sensor replacement before the signal becomes unreliable. {% endhint %} ### Leak If the system detects a leak condition, **LEAK** appears on that wheel. Treat **LEAK** as urgent: check the tyre and valve for damage or slow loss of pressure. ## Status colours and health summary Tire Pressure Health summarises all wheels as: | Status | Meaning | | --------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ | | **No TPMS data** | No live readings yet | | **Tire pressure normal** | Values are within your alert thresholds | | **Tire pressure needs attention** | At least one value is outside the normal band (caution) | | **Tire pressure abnormal** | High pressure/temperature, leak, or other abnormal condition | On live panels: * **Green** — in the normal range * **Orange** — below the low threshold (needs attention) * **Red** — above the high threshold, or leak Battery colours follow the same idea: high = green, medium = orange, low = red. ## Alert Threshold On **Profile** → **PD-Tyre** → device → **Alert Threshold**, you set when the app treats a reading as out of range: | Setting | What it controls | | -------------------- | --------------------------------- | | **Low Pressure** | Pressure below this → caution | | **High Pressure** | Pressure above this → abnormal | | **Low Temperature** | Temperature below this → caution | | **High Temperature** | Temperature above this → abnormal | {% hint style="info" %} Editing thresholds needs a live PD-Tyre connection. Defaults in the app are a starting point — adjust them for your tyres. ## Home Tire pressure alert When any connected wheel shows abnormal pressure, temperature, leak, or low battery, Home may show: * Title: **Tire pressure alert** * Message: **Abnormal tire pressure or temperature detected** Tap the banner to open **Tire Pressure Health**. The alert can reappear if the condition changes or returns. ## Tire Profile On Tire Pressure Health, **Tire Profile** stores reference data per wheel (useful for staggered fitment or partial tyre changes): * **Recommended cold pressure (kPa)** * Tire size (for example `225/45R17`) * **Tire install date** * **Odometer at install (km)** You can **Apply to all wheels** when every corner shares the same setup. {% hint style="info" %} Tire Profile is saved against the PD-Tyre bound to the current vehicle. If profiles cannot be saved, connect or reassign PD-Tyre to this vehicle. {% endhint %} Profiles do not replace live sensor data. They help you interpret readings and keep a record of cold pressure and install history. ## Tire Pressure Health Report When live data is available: 1. Open **Tire Pressure Health**. 2. Review the live FL–RR cards and profiles. 3. Tap **Submit**. The app opens a **Tire Pressure Health Report** with: * Current alert thresholds * Per-wheel pressure and temperature * **LEAK** / **LOW** flags when present * Profile details under **More Details** where available Use the report to review tyre condition after pairing, after a tyre service, or when an alert appears. ## Tips for reading the numbers 1. Check pressure when tyres are cold for the fairest comparison to the door-sticker / profile cold pressure. 2. After a long drive, expect higher pressure and temperature — wait for cool-down before deciding to add or release air. 3. A single wheel that differs from the other three often points to a slow leak, recent repair, or mismatched tyre. 4. Move away from other Bluetooth clutter if needed. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Enable Bluetooth and Location Turn both on, then open **Profile** → **PD-Tyre** → **Connect TPMS** (or **Search Device**). {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Retry the scan If nothing appears, tap **Scan** / **Search Device** again. Wait for the search animation to finish. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Re-link if the serial number is missing If you see **PD-Tyre serial number is missing. Please re-link the device.**, remove the stale entry if needed and connect again with **Connect TPMS**. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} {% hint style="info" %} If this vehicle also has a **PD-Display** and the app asks for the display first, finish **Connect Display**, then continue. Live tyre data may come through PD-Display. {% endhint %} ## Unable to Bind Device ### Symptom Search finds the box, but you see **Unable to Bind Device** and *already connected to another user.* ### What to try 1. Confirm you are logged in with the account that owns this PD-Tyre. 2. On the other account, open **Profile** → **PD-Tyre** → device → **Delete PD-Tyre** to unbind it. 3. Keep the box powered until the save toast appears (for example **Low pressure saved**). ## Wrong vehicle or Tire Profile cannot be saved ### Symptoms * **Select a vehicle for this PD-Tyre** * **Connect or buy a PD-Tyre to save tire profiles on this vehicle.** * **Reassign your PD-Tyre to this vehicle to save tire profiles.** ### What to try 1. Open **Profile** → **PD-Tyre** → device → **Connect the vehicles** and pick the correct car. 2. On Tire Pressure Health, tap **Reassign PD-Tyre** if the box is linked to another vehicle. 3. Switch the app to the vehicle that owns the PD-Tyre, then edit **Tire Profile** again. ## Home keeps showing Tire pressure alert ### Symptom Banner: **Tire pressure alert** — *Abnormal tire pressure or temperature detected* ### What to try 1. Open **Tire Pressure Health** and check which wheel is orange/red, or shows **LEAK** / **LOW**. 2. Verify real pressure with a gauge; inflate to the recommended cold pressure if low. 3. For **LEAK**, inspect the tyre and valve — do not ignore this flag. 4. For **BATTERY LOW**, plan to replace that wheel sensor. 5. Review **Alert Threshold** on the PD-Tyre detail page — thresholds that are too tight can trigger frequent alerts. 6. Keep your engine running during firmware updates, and have Wi‑Fi or a hotspot ready (downloads usually take 5–10 minutes). {% endhint %} {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Install PD-1 and PD-Display 1. Plug **PD-1** into your vehicle’s OBD‑II port. 2. Wait for the **green flashing light** (Bluetooth ready). 3. Mount **PD-Display** on the windshield or dashboard. 4. Connect the Type‑C cable from PD-1 to PD-Display. 5. Start the engine to power both devices. {% hint style="info" %} PD-Display is powered from the OBD port through PD-1. You do not need a cigarette-lighter adapter. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Update PD-Display On the display: **Settings → About → Version number** → connect to Wi‑Fi → tap **Update**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Set up the Proteus Diagnostics app 1. Install and open **Proteus Diagnostics** (App Store / Google Play). 2. Log in or register. 3. Tap **Connect PD-1** and allow Bluetooth and Location. 4. Add your vehicle (plate, brand, model, energy type, year). VIN can be auto-detected or entered manually. 5. If you see **Hardware Upgrade Detected**, tap **Upgrade Now** and wait until 100%. Tap **Scan Basic Live Data** → **Start**. 3. On the display, confirm binding your vehicle. 4. Keep **Initialize basic live data** checked and **untick Initialize OEM live data**. 5. Connect the display to Wi‑Fi / hotspot, verify the VIN, and download the data package. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Customise your dashboard 1. In the app under **PD-Display**, open **Dashboard** and choose a template. 2. Long-press and drag widgets to rearrange them (the display updates live). 3. Edit a widget to change its sensor, then tap **Save**. Set up PD-Tyre and start monitoring tyre data. # Getting Started with PD-1 Set up and connect your PD-1 device. Set up your PD-1 device and connect the app. ## What you need * **PD-1** OBD‑II dongle * Compatible vehicle with an accessible OBD‑II port * Smartphone with Bluetooth and Location Services * **PD-1** app (App Store / Google Play, or [pd1.sg/download](https://www.pd1.sg/download)) * Internet connection (for account login, firmware, and vehicle data packages) {% hint style="info" %} PD-1 plugs into the vehicle’s OBD‑II port and connects to the PD-1 app over Bluetooth. When searching, the indicator light should **blink green**. {% endhint %} ## Install PD-1 in the vehicle Follow the in-app **Plug Guide**, or these steps: {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Turn off the ignition Do not insert or remove PD-1 while the ignition is on or the engine is running. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Locate the OBD‑II port Open the driver’s side area and find the OBD port. It is usually below the steering wheel, near the driver’s seat. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Insert PD-1 The OBD port is trapezoid-shaped — match the plug orientation and push PD-1 in firmly. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Turn the ignition ON Turn the key (or power) to **ON** so PD-1 can talk to the vehicle ECU. Wait for the indicator to **blink green** — Bluetooth is ready. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Set up the app and connect {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Install and open the PD-1 app Install the PD-1 app, then **Sign Up** or **Log In**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Enable Bluetooth and Location Turn on Bluetooth and Location Services. The app needs Location to scan for Bluetooth devices. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Connect PD-1 On Home (or **Profile** → **My OBD**), tap **Connect PD-1**. On **Waiting to connect with PD-1**, search starts automatically — or tap **Search Device**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Select your device and connect When your PD-1 appears, check the serial number (SN), then tap **Connect**. Wait for **Connected Success!** / **PD-1 connected successfully!** {% hint style="info" %} Keep the phone close to the device. If nothing appears, confirm the green blinking light and tap **Scan** again. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Upgrade if prompted If you see **Hardware Upgrade Detected**, tap **Upgrade Now** / **Start Upgrade**. {% hint style="warning" %} Keep the app open, keep the engine running, and do not unplug PD-1 until the upgrade finishes (about 3–5 minutes). {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Add your vehicle If you do not have a vehicle yet, create one after connect: 1. Enter **VIN / Chassis No.** (PD-1 may auto-read the VIN), or fill brand, model, and other details manually. 2. For a standard VIN, use 17 characters. Some Japanese domestic cars use a chassis number (for example `XXX-XXXXXX`). 3. If you are unsure, you can enter seventeen `0`s and select the model manually later. {% hint style="info" %} If VIN is not detected, choose the vehicle model manually when prompted. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Download data and run your first scan {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open Diagnostics Go to the **Diagnostics** page. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Download the vehicle data package (first time) On the first scan, the app may ask you to **Download Data Package** (about 2–3 minutes). Tap **Download Now** and keep the app open. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Start Scan Tap **Start Scan** and wait for the scan to finish. When it completes, you can review fault codes, vehicle health, and other insights. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Optional: full Getting Started checklist in the app For a guided end-to-end setup (connect → update → vehicle database → live data → optional PD-Display): 1. Open **Settings** → **Getting Started**, or 2. Log in with your PD-1 **Serial Number** to open Getting Started automatically. Learn how to scan your vehicle and review fault codes. ## Before you start * PD-1 is plugged into the OBD‑II port * Ignition is **ON** (engine may be running) * PD-1 is connected in the PD-1 app * A vehicle profile is selected * Bluetooth and Location are enabled on your phone * Internet is available for the first data package download {% hint style="info" %} If you see **No PD-1 connected!**, tap **Connect PD-1** first. If PD-1 is currently on PD-Display, switch it to the phone when prompted. {% endhint %} ## Run a scan {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open Diagnostic In the PD-1 app, open the **Diagnostic** tab. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Start a scan Under **Check Car for Fault Codes**, tap **Start** for a **Quick Scan** (about 1 minute). For more control, open the Scan hub and choose: * **Quick Scan** — faster check * **Full Scan** — all available control units * **Custom Scan** — pick units, then tap **Scan** {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Verify the vehicle (if asked) When **Verify Vehicle Match** appears, confirm **Brand**, **Model**, and **Year**, then tap **Yes**. If the VIN does not match your current vehicle, you can switch, edit, or add a vehicle. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Download the data package (first time) On the first scan, tap **Download Now** on **Download Data Package** (about 2–3 minutes). Keep the app open until you see **Download Complete**, then tap **Start Scan**. {% hint style="info" %} Later scans may ask you to **Upgrade Data Package** if a newer vehicle database is available. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Wait for the scan to finish Stay in the app until scanning completes. You can **Pause**, **Resume**, or **Stop** if needed. When it finishes, you will see **Fault Codes Detected** or **No Fault Codes Detected**. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Read the results Scanned items are grouped by system (for example Engine, Transmission, Brakes). Each unit shows **Normal**, a DTC count, or **Not Detected**. {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open a control unit Tap a unit that has codes to open the ECU detail list. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Open Fault Details Tap a code to see: * Fault name and **Code** * **Description** * **Possible Symptoms** * **Repair Importance Level** — Low / Medium / High * **Estimated Cost** (Part, Labour, Total), when available {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Use extra tools (optional) On Fault Details you can: * **Ask AI** — explain possible causes and next steps * **Freeze Frame** — snapshot of vehicle data when the code was stored (only if the vehicle has freeze frame data) * **Post to Forum** — share the code with the community {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Save a report Tap **View Report** (or open the **Report** tab) to keep a record of this scan. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} {% hint style="info" %} Past scans are under the **History** tab in the Scan hub — that is scan session history, not a Current / Pending code filter. {% endhint %} ## Clear fault codes If the scan found codes, tap **Clear DTC**, then **Confirm**. On success you will see **Clear DTC successful** and how many codes were cleared. {% hint style="warning" %} Clearing codes does not fix the underlying issue. If the fault is still present, the code (and warning light) can return. On some BMW vehicles, restart the car after clearing. {% endhint %} Then tap **Rescan** to confirm whether codes come back. ## If something blocks the scan | Message / situation | What to try | | -------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Add a New Vehicle** | Add a vehicle, then connect PD-1 | | **No PD-1 connected!** | Tap **Connect PD-1**; check the green blinking light | | **Download Failed!** | Check internet, then **Retry Download** | | **Vehicle Mismatch** | Switch, edit, or add the vehicle that matches the scanned VIN | | Scan stuck / cancelled | Stay in the app; restart with ignition ON and PD-1 connected | | **Not Detected** on a unit | That module may not be available on this vehicle or this scan | ## Next steps 1. Understand the health insights for your vehicle. ## What Vehicle Health is Vehicle Health turns real driving samples from **PD-Display** into an overall **Health Index** and theme-by-theme status (electrical, thermal, and more). It is different from a one-off Diagnostic scan: | | Diagnostic scan | Vehicle Health | | ----------- | ------------------------------ | ----------------------------------- | | Main goal | Find and clear fault codes now | Track condition over several drives | | Data source | PD-1 ↔ phone (live OBD scan) | PD-Display samples → app sync | | Typical use | Check engine light / codes | Ongoing health after normal driving | {% hint style="info" %} Vehicle Health needs a **PD-Display** linked to the same vehicle. Driving with the display connected builds the samples; the PD-1 app syncs and analyses them. {% endhint %} ## Before you start * A vehicle profile is selected in the PD-1 app * PD-1 and PD-Display are set up for that vehicle * PD-Display stays powered and connected while you drive * Internet is available when you sync in the app {% hint style="info" %} Some accounts see **Vehicle Health early access** first. Tap **Apply for access** and wait until access is approved before the full dashboard unlocks. {% endhint %} ## Open Vehicle Health and sync {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open Health In the PD-1 app, open the **Health** tab. The screen title is **Vehicle Health**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Connect PD-Display (if needed) If you see **Connect PD-Display**, complete display setup and bind the same vehicle used in the app. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Drive with PD-Display connected Use the car normally. PD-Display collects samples in the background. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Sync with PD-Display Tap **Sync** or **Sync with PD-Display**. The app shows **AI Health Analysis** while it uploads samples and updates your assessment. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} {% hint style="warning" %} The vehicle on PD-Display must match the vehicle selected in the app. If they differ, switch or rebind before syncing. {% endhint %} ## Vehicle Health Journey Until enough driving samples are collected, you will see **Vehicle Health Journey**. Progress is based on **effective collection days** (useful drives that produce samples), not only calendar days. Typical unlock path (petrol / hybrid): 1. Current operating readings 2. 12V battery & charging check 3. Cooling & warm-up assessment 4. Fuel mixture & combustion status 5. Core systems cross-check 6. Repeat-condition verification 7. **Vehicle Health Index** EV journeys use EV-focused steps (for example 12V system voltage and thermal-loop checks) instead of combustion. When the journey is complete, the **Health Index** becomes available. Keep PD-Display connected and sync regularly so the index stays fresh. ## Health Index The **Health Index** is a 0–100 score from recent analysis (about a **7-day window**). | Pill | Meaning | | --------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- | | **Not Enough Data** | Journey not complete, or samples are still building | | **In good condition** | Latest analysis looks healthy overall | | **Needs Attention** | At least one theme needs a closer look | | **Elevated Risk** | One or more themes show elevated risk | You may also see: * **Primary constraint: {theme}** — the theme most limiting the index * **Index +N / −N since last sync** — how the score moved after a sync * **Looking good overall** — no active concerns from the latest analysis * **Worth a look** + **Review {theme}** — open the theme that needs attention If analysis is stale, the app may show **Sync to refresh analysis**, **Analysis is N days old**, or **Needs PD-Display sync**. ## Themes Tap a theme card for charts, verdict, and next steps. ### Petrol / hybrid | Theme | What it reflects | | ------------------- | --------------------------------------- | | **Electrical** | Charging / 12V behaviour while driving | | **Thermal** | Coolant temperature after warm-up | | **Combustion** | Fuel trim / mixture stability | | **Fault Status** | Fault signals that may need a code scan | | **Usage Intensity** | How hard the vehicle is being driven | | **Trip** | Mileage and runtime context | ### EV | Theme | What it reflects | | --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Electrical** | 12V system / pack health signals (as available) | | **Thermal** | Thermal-loop temperature | | **Electrical Alerts** | DC-DC / 12V-style alerts (instead of classic MIL fault status) | | **Driving Intensity** | High-demand driving share | | **Trip** | Mileage and runtime context | Combustion is usually not shown for pure EV. ## Status colours | Status | Meaning | | ------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- | | **Normal** | Within a healthy band for that theme | | **Needs attention** | Outside the normal band — review and follow next steps | | **Risk** | Higher concern — act sooner; consider a shop if it persists | | **Calibrating** | Not enough valid samples yet for a firm verdict | {% hint style="info" %} Short spikes alone usually do not set status. Common in-app checklists: * **Check charging while driving** * **Check coolant on a warm drive** * **Check 12V while driving** (EV) * **Check thermal loop on a drive** (EV) * **Follow the quick check** Typical pattern: 1. Drive normally for about 15–20 minutes 2. Keep PD-Display connected 3. Sync after the drive 4. Recheck the theme You may also see **Find a nearby shop** or a **Related service** reminder. Sync after several normal drives — one short trip is often not enough. 2. For thermal checks, judge after the engine (or thermal loop) is fully warm. 3. If **Fault Status** / **Electrical Alerts** points to an active fault, also run a Diagnostic scan (see [Scan & Fault Codes](/instructions/pd-1/scan-and-fault-codes)). 4. View and understand your vehicle's live data. ## What Live Data is **Live Data** shows real-time values from your vehicle through PD-1 — for example RPM, temperatures, voltages, and other PIDs. There are two tabs: | Tab | What it is | | --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Live Data** (Basic) | Standardized basic diagnostic data available on most vehicles | | **OEM Live Data** | Manufacturer-specific advanced data — more detailed, model-dependent | {% hint style="info" %} Start with **Basic Live Data**. Use **OEM Live Data** when Basic cannot be read, or when a feature needs OEM parameters. You can initialize OEM later from **Settings → Toolbox**. {% endhint %} ## Before you start * PD-1 is plugged in and the ignition is **ON** * PD-1 is connected to the **phone** (Mobile App), not only to PD-Display * A vehicle profile is selected * Bluetooth and Location are enabled {% hint style="warning" %} PD-1 can only connect to one host at a time. Scanning discovers available parameters and supports features that need a Basic data source (for example some display templates). {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ### OEM Live Data {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Download the vehicle data package OEM needs a vehicle database. Use **Download Vehicle Data Package** in **Settings → Toolbox** if you have not already. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Read the Important Notice The first OEM init shows **Important Notice**: reading OEM data may temporarily light dashboard warnings. Tap **Continue** only if you accept that risk. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Initialize OEM On the OEM tab, tap **Start** if you see **Initialize OEM Data to start monitoring**. Wait for **OEMLiveData initialized successfully.** {% endstep %} {% step %} ### First OEM scan The first OEM scan may show **First OEM Scan Required** — downloading and processing a large package (can take much longer than Basic; later scans are faster). Keep the app open. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} {% hint style="info" %} Redo init or scan anytime from **Settings → Toolbox**: Initialize basic / OEM live data, Scan Basic / OEM Live Data, Download Vehicle Data Package. {% endhint %} ## Use the Live Data grid {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Watch live values Each tile shows a parameter name, value, and unit. Values update while PD-1 stays connected. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Change layout size Toggle **Large** (fewer, bigger tiles) or **Small** (denser grid). {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Edit parameters Long-press the grid (tip: **This is a data sample, long press to edit parameters...**): 1. Remove tiles you do not need 2. Tap **+** / **Add Data** to open **Select Data** 3. Search and select parameters, then confirm 4. Drag to reorder while editing {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Set warnings (optional) Open ⋮ → **Live Data warning setting**. Set **Min** / **Max** (and related fields) so out-of-range tiles can highlight in red. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} On **OEM Live Data**, if the grid is empty you will see **No OEM Data Added** — tap **Add Data** to pick OEM parameters. ## Live Data AI Analysis (Basic tab) On the Basic tab, ⋮ → **Live Data AI Analysis**: 1. Tap **Start Recording** to capture screen data while values update 2. Drive or run the vehicle as needed 3. Learn how PD-1 checks vehicle mileage. ## What Mileage Check does Mileage Check compares the **current mileage you enter** with mileage stored in vehicle modules (and optionally OEM live data). Mileage Check reads modules through the app connection. {% endhint %} ## Run a Mileage Check {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Open Mileage Check Go to the **Diagnostic** tab → **Vehicle Insights** → **Mileage Check**. You can also add **Mileage Check** as a Home **Custom Actions** shortcut. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Enter current mileage On **Enter Current Mileage**, tap **Enter**. Type the reading from the dashboard (in **km**), then **Confirm**. {% hint style="info" %} This value is used for this check only. It is not saved as the vehicle’s stored mileage. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Connect PD-1 (if needed) If PD-1 is not on the phone, complete **Connect PD-1**. Confirm **Verify Vehicle Match** if asked. On a first scan, download the **Download Data Package** (about 2–3 minutes) and keep the app open. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Wait for analysis The overview shows **Analyze Mileage Data** (about 1 minute). The app scans Engine and Transmission, then may read freeze-frame mileage from stored fault data. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Choose OEM (optional) When you see **Continue with OEM Check?**, choose: * **Confirm** — initialize OEM and try to read more mileage (can take longer; dashboard warnings may appear briefly) * **Skip** — go straight to results {% hint style="info" %} OEM is optional. If you skip it, or OEM finds nothing, the check still finishes with module data only. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Understand the result The report always shows: * **Current Mileage** — what you entered * **Real Mileage Estimate** — highest km found in modules / OEM, or **Not Detected** | Result | Meaning | | ---------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Mileage Verified** | Records are consistent across available modules. Your entered mileage is not lower than the highest stored reading. | | **Discrepancy Detected** | Inconsistent mileage across modules. A stored reading is **higher** than what you entered. The **Difference** row shows the gap. | | **Mileage Data Unavailable** | No usable mileage could be read from the vehicle. Ignition is **ON** (or the engine is running, when the app asks for it) 3. The indicator light **blinks green** 4. Phone **Bluetooth** and **Location** are turned on 5. Confirm the light **blinks green**. Use in-app **Plug Guide** if you are unsure about the port or orientation. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Enable Bluetooth and Location Turn both on, then tap **Connect PD-1** → **Search Device**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Stay close and rescan Keep the phone near PD-1 (*Please keep your phone close to the device.*) and tap **Scan** again. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Wait if another connection is busy If you see *Another device is connecting…*, wait until it finishes, then try again. In **Settings → Toolbox**, you can also use **Reset PD-1 Wait State** if the app stays stuck waiting. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Unable to Bind Device ### Symptom Search finds PD-1, but you see **Unable to Bind Device** and *already connected to another user.* ### What to try 1. Log in with the account that already owns this PD-1. 2. On the other account, open **Profile → My OBD** and remove / delete that PD-1 if you intend to move it. 3. Return to your account and tap **Connect PD-1** again. {% hint style="warning" %} A PD-1 device can only be linked to one account at a time. {% endhint %} ## PD-1 is on PD-Display instead of the phone ### Symptoms * *PD-1 is connected to PD-Display. Switch to your phone or search for another device?* * Live Data / scan asks you to switch * *PD-1 can only connect to one device at a time.* ### What to try 1. When prompted, tap **Switch** to move PD-1 to the **Mobile App**, or **Search** for another device. 2. For Live Data Panel, Diagnostic scan, Mileage Check, and Toolbox actions, PD-1 must be on the phone. 3. For on-screen gauges, switch PD-1 back to **PD-Display** when you are done in the app. ## Hardware upgrade problems ### Symptoms * **Hardware Upgrade Detected** * **Upgrade Failed!** * Upgrade stuck below 100% ### What to try {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Start the upgrade correctly Tap **Upgrade Now** / **Start Upgrade**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Keep conditions stable * Keep the app open * Keep the engine running * Do not unplug PD-1 * Stay close over Bluetooth Upgrade usually takes about 3–5 minutes. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Retry if it fails Tap **Retry Upgrade**. If it fails again, reconnect PD-1, confirm the green blinking light, and retry with a stable connection. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} When it succeeds you will see **Upgrade Complete!** ## Vehicle data package will not download ### Symptoms * **Download Data Package** / **Download Failed!** * *Unable to download the data package. Please check your internet connection and try again.* * Scan or Mileage Check stuck on the download placeholder ### What to try 1. Check mobile data / Wi‑Fi. 2. Tap **Retry Download** / **Download Now** and keep the app open (about 2–3 minutes). 3. Confirm **Verify Vehicle Match** (Brand / Model / Year). 4. If VIN does not match, switch, edit, or add the correct vehicle. 5. If auto-connect fails with *VIN mismatch…*, connect PD-1 manually, then continue. ## Scan or Live Data will not start ### Symptoms * Diagnostic shows **No PD-1 connected!** * Live Data shows empty values or will not initialize * Scan stops or never starts * *VIN mismatch. Auto-connect failed. Please connect to PD-1 manually.* ### What to try | Situation | Action | | --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Not connected | Tap **Connect PD-1**; ignition ON | | On PD-Display | **Switch** to Mobile App | | First scan | Complete **Download Data Package** | | Basic Live Data empty | **Settings → Toolbox** → Initialize / Scan Basic Live Data | | OEM needed | Download vehicle package → accept OEM notice → Initialize / Scan OEM | | App stuck waiting | **Toolbox** → **Reset PD-1 Wait State**, then retry | | Left the app mid-scan | Stay in the app until scanning finishes | ## Vehicle mismatch ### Symptoms * **Vehicle Mismatch** * **Verify Vehicle Match** rejected * Scanned VIN differs from the current vehicle ### What to try 1. Read the **Scanned VIN** and **Current VIN** carefully. 2. Tap **Yes** to switch to the existing vehicle, or **Edit Vehicle** / **Add Vehicle** for a new one. 3. Confirm the vehicle selected in the app is the car PD-1 is plugged into. ## Connection drops often ### What to try 1. Keep the phone close to PD-1; avoid covering the device. 2. Turn Bluetooth off/on, then reconnect. 3. Unplug PD-1, wait a few seconds, plug in again, ignition ON. 4. Close other apps that use Bluetooth heavily. 5. Retry **Connect PD-1** from Home or **Profile → My OBD**. ## Still need help? 1. Note the exact on-screen message and your PD-1 serial number (SN). 2. Configure your dashboard to show the data you need. ## Choose a template (in the app) 1. Open **Proteus Diagnostics**. 2. Go to the **PD-Display** tab. 3. Open **Dashboard**. 4. Select a dashboard / add a template (for example, Minimal Style Template 6). ## Arrange widgets * **Long-press and drag** widgets on your phone — the physical PD-Display updates in real time. ## Change a sensor 1. Select a widget. 2. Tap the **edit (pencil)** icon. 3. Choose the data sensor you want (for example, Lambda B1S1). 4. Understand the gauges and vehicle data in PD-Display. # ERP 2.0 Features Set up ERP 2.0 on PD-Display with LTA MAC registration. Use PD-Display with Singapore’s ERP 2.0 system. Complete these steps in order: find your Display MAC address, register it with LTA, wait for activation, then connect from PD-Display. ## Before you start * PD-Display is installed, powered, and set up. * You have a Singpass account to access **OneMotoring Digital Services**. * Your vehicle already has an ERP 2.0 OBU. {% hint style="info" %} ERP 2.0 registration is handled by LTA. Install PD-Tyre sensors on your vehicle. ## What you need * **PD-Tyre** receiver box * One PD-Tyre wheel sensor for each tyre you want to monitor (usually four) * Compatible wheels and valve holes for clamp‑in sensors * **Proteus Diagnostics** app (for pairing after install) * Optional: **PD-Display** on the same vehicle {% hint style="warning" %} PD-Tyre wheel sensors are internal clamp‑in sensors. Fitting them requires demounting the tyre. Have the work done by a qualified tyre workshop unless you are trained to do this safely. {% endhint %} ## Before you install {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Record each sensor ID Every sensor has a **6‑character ID** (hex digits `0–9`, `A–F`) printed on the housing, often with a QR code. Write down each ID and which wheel it will go on (**FL / FR / RL / RR**) before the tyre is mounted. After install, the ID is hidden inside the wheel. {% hint style="info" %} You will use these IDs in the app when pairing sensors to each wheel position. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Check seals and parts Use the gasket, nut, valve core, and cap supplied with the sensor (or a matching service kit). Do not reuse damaged seals or corroded nuts — poor sealing can cause slow leaks. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Plan wheel positions Decide which sensor goes on Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, and Rear Right. Keep the same position map for pairing later. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## Install the wheel sensors {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Demount the tyre At a tyre workshop, demount the tyre from the rim using a tyre machine. Protect the sensor body from the bead breaker and mounting head. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Fit the sensor to the rim 1. Clean the valve hole so the seal can sit flat. 2. Insert the sensor valve stem from the **inside** of the rim through the valve hole. 3. Seat the rubber gasket firmly against the rim. 4. Fit and tighten the retaining nut so the sensor body sits against the rim drop centre without twisting the stem. 5. The dialog title shows that wheel’s sensor ID (for example **FRONT LEFT**). {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Start Learn Tap **Learn**. The app listens and shows a message such as **Scan FL: trigger that tire sensor (45s)…** or **Listening FL — trigger sensor**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Trigger that wheel’s sensor only While Learn is running, activate **only** the sensor for that wheel (use the activation method supplied with your sensors — for example a short pressure change at that valve). Do not trigger other wheels at the same time. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Confirm the ID When Learn succeeds, the ID field fills in and you see **Learn success**. Use it together with pressure — a hot tyre often reads higher than a cold one. ### Battery Sensor battery level (not a voltage number on the main cards): * **BATTERY HIGH** * **BATTERY MEDIUM** * **BATTERY LOW** (also shown as **LOW** on health cards) {% hint style="warning" %} **LOW** means the wheel sensor battery is weak. Plan a sensor replacement before the signal becomes unreliable. {% endhint %} ### Leak If the system detects a leak condition, **LEAK** appears on that wheel. Treat **LEAK** as urgent: check the tyre and valve for damage or slow loss of pressure. ## Status colours and health summary Tire Pressure Health summarises all wheels as: | Status | Meaning | | --------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ | | **No TPMS data** | No live readings yet | | **Tire pressure normal** | Values are within your alert thresholds | | **Tire pressure needs attention** | At least one value is outside the normal band (caution) | | **Tire pressure abnormal** | High pressure/temperature, leak, or other abnormal condition | On live panels: * **Green** — in the normal range * **Orange** — below the low threshold (needs attention) * **Red** — above the high threshold, or leak Battery colours follow the same idea: high = green, medium = orange, low = red. ## Alert Threshold On **Profile** → **PD-Tyre** → device → **Alert Threshold**, you set when the app treats a reading as out of range: | Setting | What it controls | | -------------------- | --------------------------------- | | **Low Pressure** | Pressure below this → caution | | **High Pressure** | Pressure above this → abnormal | | **Low Temperature** | Temperature below this → caution | | **High Temperature** | Temperature above this → abnormal | {% hint style="info" %} Editing thresholds needs a live PD-Tyre connection. Defaults in the app are a starting point — adjust them for your tyres. ## Home Tire pressure alert When any connected wheel shows abnormal pressure, temperature, leak, or low battery, Home may show: * Title: **Tire pressure alert** * Message: **Abnormal tire pressure or temperature detected** Tap the banner to open **Tire Pressure Health**. The alert can reappear if the condition changes or returns. ## Tire Profile On Tire Pressure Health, **Tire Profile** stores reference data per wheel (useful for staggered fitment or partial tyre changes): * **Recommended cold pressure (kPa)** * Tire size (for example `225/45R17`) * **Tire install date** * **Odometer at install (km)** You can **Apply to all wheels** when every corner shares the same setup. {% hint style="info" %} Tire Profile is saved against the PD-Tyre bound to the current vehicle. If profiles cannot be saved, connect or reassign PD-Tyre to this vehicle. {% endhint %} Profiles do not replace live sensor data. They help you interpret readings and keep a record of cold pressure and install history. ## Tire Pressure Health Report When live data is available: 1. Open **Tire Pressure Health**. 2. Review the live FL–RR cards and profiles. 3. Tap **Submit**. The app opens a **Tire Pressure Health Report** with: * Current alert thresholds * Per-wheel pressure and temperature * **LEAK** / **LOW** flags when present * Profile details under **More Details** where available Use the report to review tyre condition after pairing, after a tyre service, or when an alert appears. ## Tips for reading the numbers 1. Check pressure when tyres are cold for the fairest comparison to the door-sticker / profile cold pressure. 2. After a long drive, expect higher pressure and temperature — wait for cool-down before deciding to add or release air. 3. A single wheel that differs from the other three often points to a slow leak, recent repair, or mismatched tyre. 4. Move away from other Bluetooth clutter if needed. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Enable Bluetooth and Location Turn both on, then open **Profile** → **PD-Tyre** → **Connect TPMS** (or **Search Device**). {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Retry the scan If nothing appears, tap **Scan** / **Search Device** again. Wait for the search animation to finish. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Re-link if the serial number is missing If you see **PD-Tyre serial number is missing. Please re-link the device.**, remove the stale entry if needed and connect again with **Connect TPMS**. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} {% hint style="info" %} If this vehicle also has a **PD-Display** and the app asks for the display first, finish **Connect Display**, then continue. Live tyre data may come through PD-Display. {% endhint %} ## Unable to Bind Device ### Symptom Search finds the box, but you see **Unable to Bind Device** and *already connected to another user.* ### What to try 1. Confirm you are logged in with the account that owns this PD-Tyre. 2. On the other account, open **Profile** → **PD-Tyre** → device → **Delete PD-Tyre** to unbind it. 3. Return to your account and tap **Connect TPMS** again. {% hint style="warning" %} A PD-Tyre box can only be linked to one account at a time. {% endhint %} ## Connected, but no live tyre data ### Symptoms * **No live tire pressure data yet. Edit them on the Display.** ### What to try 1. Connect PD-Tyre (App Bluetooth) when the phone owns the link. 2. If IDs are managed through PD-Display, edit them on the display as the message says. 3. Keep the box powered until the save toast appears (for example **Low pressure saved**). ## Wrong vehicle or Tire Profile cannot be saved ### Symptoms * **Select a vehicle for this PD-Tyre** * **Connect or buy a PD-Tyre to save tire profiles on this vehicle.** * **Reassign your PD-Tyre to this vehicle to save tire profiles.** ### What to try 1. Open **Profile** → **PD-Tyre** → device → **Connect the vehicles** and pick the correct car. 2. On Tire Pressure Health, tap **Reassign PD-Tyre** if the box is linked to another vehicle. 3. Switch the app to the vehicle that owns the PD-Tyre, then edit **Tire Profile** again. ## Home keeps showing Tire pressure alert ### Symptom Banner: **Tire pressure alert** — *Abnormal tire pressure or temperature detected* ### What to try 1. Open **Tire Pressure Health** and check which wheel is orange/red, or shows **LEAK** / **LOW**. 2. Verify real pressure with a gauge; inflate to the recommended cold pressure if low. 3. For **LEAK**, inspect the tyre and valve — do not ignore this flag. 4. For **BATTERY LOW**, plan to replace that wheel sensor. 5. Review **Alert Threshold** on the PD-Tyre detail page — thresholds that are too tight can trigger frequent alerts. 6. After a long drive, wait for tyres to cool before judging cold pressure. {% hint style="info" %} Opening Tire Pressure Health dismisses the current home alert fingerprint.
